Hello all at the Java Ranch.
I've signed up to do the develpoer exam and have recieved the assignment for Bodgitt and Scarper.
I'm asked to provide access to a database which must retain its structure so that a custom program can report on that database. To ensure that the file remains in the correct format whats everyones opionion on writting unit tests. And writting tests for this assignment in general?

They can certainly be good for you, as an aid to development. But they're not required by the assignment, and I would not include them in the code I delivered to Sun.
In the real world, I'd include the tests in a separate directory so the client could see them. But since Sun gave very specific requirements about what to include, I would just include what they asked for.
