Checking DB file exists ?

When updating the DB file, I would like a file Not Found Exception to be thrown if the DB file has been deleted or moved, is there any simple way to do this as I can't seem to find one. The JVM just creates a new file.

Have you looked at what the java.io.File class can do for you?
