2 byte flag. 00 implies valid record, 0x8000 implies deleted record
...
"00" is a 2 byte.
0x8000?Is it 2 byte.What's the type?

Use readShort() and writeShort() for that. i think if you use readShort() you will get -32768 (please check it). So in writeShort(-32768) should write 0x8000 in the file
