Where to Start!

Hi Guys,
I have just purchased my SCJD Exam...Yet to download the assignment...waiting for the access...
Meanwhile, I thought I can ask you guys of "where to start" and "waht to start with", once I download my assignment...
Give me your suggestions on most adopted steps in sequence...as I have no idea about? I have Kathy sierra's book, even that didn't say anything about what should be the first step, second and so on...
Please give me your suggestions, or share your experience with me...that will be very helpful to me...

Hi Karthik,
When you download the assignment, you will (probably) be told that you need to implement an interface in order to access a data file.
In my opinion that will be the best place to start.
This will be clearer once you have downloaded the assignment.
In the meantime, if you want to do something while waiting, you could look at the JavaRanch SCJD FAQ & Links page. There you will find useful links to tutorials and study guides. And also a link to the best book for SCJD that I have seen: Max's The Sun Certified Java Developer Exam with J2SE 1.4.

Thanks Andrew for your reply.
I have a proble in downloading the assignment. It's been more than 24 hrs since I have bought the exam. When I go to the link and try to download "Sun Certified Java Developer Assignment for Java 2", it says I do not have the rights. I emailed to Sun asking for the rights. Why is it? This happened to you all or to me only. Is there any phone no where I can reach those guys and ask directly...Please let me know.. Thanks

Hi Karthik,
I also had a delay of a few days.
Actually I had a worse problem than that. I purchased the SCJP 1.2 -> 1.4 upgrade voucher at the same time as I purchased the SCJD assignment, and someone blocked my SCJD voucher because they thought I was not an SCJP :roll:
Anyway, once I had Sun agreeing that I was an SCJP, they sold me the voucher. I think I waited 3 days after the assignment was approved before I received the email from Prometric giving me access.
End result: you may want to wait a few more days.
