Hello all,
I apologize if this question has been asked before but I was unable to find any threads leading to this topic.
Q1) Will I be penalized for showing the record number to the client GUI in the JTable? I realize that the record number is for all intents and purposes meaningless to the end user, but seemed to be a simple way for me to track the exact record that the client wanted to update. Anyone implemented their JTable in a similar way?
Q2) Also, there have been recent discussions on the lock-delete-unlock sequence of events. My current implementation of unlock does not check record validity before it attempts to unlock it. I guess keeping track of the sequence of events such as the record number in the lock-delete-unlock situation would warrant a stateful transaction (for lack of a better term) while my present design has assumed that all operations as such defined in the DB interface are highly atomic and stateless. Anybody, not throw a RecordNotFoundException in their unlock implementation submission and still pass?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
- Lanuk.

i'd suggest you keep the record number in the TableModel but hide it while displying the records on the JTable.
