I understand that you get an itemized score on the submitted project, but is the written exam just a pass or fail, or does it also factor in to the final itemized score?
Yay - finally I have reached the END!!! Submitting today, and exam on Monday!

Melinda,
The final exams IS a part of your itemised scoring. The exam is to make sure that you are the one who did the assignment. So the final exam will also factor in the final score. That does not mean that you get X marks for the submissiona and Y marks for the exam.

Thanks - so you really have no way of knowing if you lose points if it's because of your test essay, or your code.
I think it would be great if they provided more detailed feedback than they do.
Thanks for the reply,
Melinda

Melinda, it is doubtful, but not completely unlikely, that you would lose points because of your responses to the Essay exam, if you did your own work.
The real purpose of the essay exam is to prove that you did all your own coding. It asks what you did, like Did you use RMI or Sockets and why.
If you didn't do your own work, then yes you could lose all points based on your essay exam answers. Or if you didn't mention a design decision in your design document or the essay exam then you might lose a point or two in general considerations.
But I wouldn't worry too much about it. You will do fine.
