NX: Naming Look Up Standards

Is the use of the slashes standard for all operating systems in this instance (like http):
client = (DBClient)Naming.lookup("rmi://" + host
+ "/ContractorRemote");
Or do I need to use something like:
sep = System.getProperty("file.separator");
client = (DBClient)Naming.lookup("rmi:" + sep + sep + host
+ sep + "ContractorRemote");

The syntax of the rmi: string is defined in the Naming API; it's standarrd for Java, regardless of platform.
