Its almost been 1 and a half months since I submitted my assignment and gave my exam  . I have contacted both Sun and Prometric who are looking into it (Prometric have definitely been more helpful). Can someone tell me how often the marking period creeps over the 4 week period, and what may be causing it? Also, what's the maximum period people have had to wait?
I've heard that some lucky people have got their marks back in under 3 weeks!
I really wish Sun would improve this part of their service!

Just being curioius...
After submission, you should take the follow-up exam right away, and that pays another bill.....money money.
But if the submission job itself does not pass, the money invested on follow-up would be in vain and meaningless.
Is that right?
If so, well, I could say it is pretty commercial....

Hi YungSheng,
You have to take the follow up exam before your assignment will be marked. So it is not as though you can save your money until you see if you pass or not.
Manoj is correct: If you fail the assignment, you will have to resubmit it. But you will not have to resit the follow up exam.
When you do the follow up exam you may understand why that is

Hi Sanj,
Welcome to JavaRanch.
Just to confirm - you are checking the website where you uploaded your assignment to see if you passed? You are not waiting on an email to tell you that you passed?
Also the website does acknowledge that you have uploaded the assignment, and doesnt require you to upload it a second time?
Unfortunately there is no standard time for how long it takes to mark an exam. Sun used to suggest that 6 weeks was the maximum, I don't know if that is still the case.
I think most posts I have seen recently have indicated turnarounds of less than 4 weeks.
But I have seen people posting that they have waited over 2 months for their results (this is fairly rare). Personally I don't know how they could be patient that long.
As for what may be causing it - it could be as simple as the person who was meant to be marking your assignment got sick. It would be nice if Sun or Prometric or the companies doing the marking were proactive in ensuring that such simple problems did not delay candidates certification, but it does not seem to be the case.
Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I'm checking the Test History page in CertManager. I can see my results for the SCJP2 and SCWCD (which I have have previously cleared), but as yet the SCJD results are not there.
At this stage I'm quite fed up... I have been holding off on further developing myself till I cleared this, but I guess I have to move on.
I'm amazed at how there can be a range of between 3 - 60 days to perform the same task!!
Thanks Guys...
