Hi,
I have seen a thread a day ago which was discussing how long should choices.txt be. Andrew has given there some tips. This discussion was about 2 months old. I failed today to find again. I only remember that:
- he had about 600 lines.
- he said it should be as long as needed to point out all problems.
Well, having the line in text max 80 columns, I came up with 900 lines.
I am afraid it is really too long...
Any ideas?

Tx,
Vlad

Hi Vlad,
I see you are using my technique: give the examiner too much to read in the hopes that they give you a good mark rather than reading all the information you provide
I think the post you were referring to is this one: how verbose should be design desision document?
Pay particular attention to Patrick Cobbett's question to Sun and their response.
Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Sun

Don't go overboard on this. We're just looking for something simple ... a few sentences on each major decision.

It will be not easy to squeeze 900 line to 400
You said you had approx. 440 lines. How many columns did every line have?
My lines have 80 columns. If your lines were 160 columns, I could easily solve the problem ...
Best,
Vlad

Hi Vlad,
It was my README.txt file that was 414 lines long, and that was a plain text document that I ensured stayed inside 80 columns. However the README.txt file for FBNS had to contain a list of all submitted files - that alone took up 280 lines!
I just dumped my design choices document into text format, and checked it. There are 658 lines in that file

Hi Andrew,

There are 658 lines in that file

Sounds better! I think that I will manage to squeeze it till 700-750 lines.
Great. Thanx a lot!
Best,
Vlad
