Regarding the database interface that's provided, is
that the interface that has to be used for communication
with the client?
Or, could the server class expose a different interface to the client,
and talk to the database interface itself?
(ie, client -> server -> database_interface)
Or, er, *should* the database interface be the interface used
by the client (in whole or in part)?
(ie, client -> database_interface)
Thanks

Hi Jonathan,
You might be interested in reading the thread "Should lock methods be callable by the client". Don't let the title fool you: it is really talking about the issue you asked: should the database interface be exposed to the client.
Regards, Andrew
