This is a question for the people who have been around this forum for somtime, like, Jim, Mark, Andrew, or others who submitted their assignments recently and got the results. It seems like the expediency of results is dependent upon where you are. I am in Boston (Ok Newton to be exact) Massachusetts. I took my essay exam on November 7th and am awaiting the results. So far, no luck. Before that, I had uploaded my JAR file for grading according to the instructions. I am not sure I got any acknowledgements from Sun/Prometric except that the JAR file was successfully uploaded.
I just want to make sure that I am checking the right place.
I go to the following URL:
http://www.certmanager.net/sun/
Login using my prometric id and password.
Upon logging in, I get a screen with the following option buttons:
Personal Info
Test History
Cert Progress
FAQ
Password
Logout
I click on the Test History button to check for my results. It shows the results for SCJP1.4 and SCWCD exams that I have completed with the right grade and dates. Now the questions:
1. I should be looking for SCJD results to appear here right?
2. Do you think that it is the right time to contact Sun/Prometric for getting the results? By email? If yes then what address? Any alternate means of contacting them?
Any other suggestions that you have are welcome. The suspense is killing me.
Thanks and Regards.
Bharat

Hi Bharat,
AFAIK, Sun may take up to six weeks before marking you. As you made your essay on November 7, it's "just" 3.5 weeks ago. I think that Vlad downloaded a little before you and AFAIK is still waiting for his results (anyway *we* are still waiting for them ).
There is nothing else for you to do than be patient IMO. November 7 + six weeks ... you could even get it as a nice Christmas present.
Best,
Phil.

Hi Bharat,
It seems like the expediency of results is dependent upon where you are.

There doesn't seem to be any logic to it. Some people have had really fast results, and some have really slow results. Location could be a factor. Here in Sydney, I had my SCJD results within a few days. But Billy Tsai in New Zealand had to wait the entire 6 weeks. Then Billy came over to Sydney and did his SCEA here, and got the results within a few days: maybe that's why we are called the lucky country

1. I should be looking for SCJD results to appear here right?

Yes, that is the correct place to be looking.

2. Do you think that it is the right time to contact Sun/Prometric for getting the results? By email? If yes then what address? Any alternate means of contacting them?

As Phil said, you could wait until the 6 weeks are up. I think it is a little bit early to be worried.
You also have a problem of being in the USA, where it is quite possible that examiners were away last week for Thanksgiving (I heard the entire prometric staff in charge of setting permissions for uploads / downloads were away last week ) so you may have a little extra delay.
If you did want to contact Sun and / or Prometric, then I would suggest several approaches (possibly simultaneously):
  • Sun: who2contact@sun.com
  • Prometric: SunCert@prometric.com
  • If you are on good terms with your local customer service representitive at Sun, then ask them if they can chase it up.

    Thanks Andrew and Phil,
I guess I will wait another week and then contact Sun/Prometric.
    Regards.

    Hi guys,
I am back from the vacation.
I uploaded my assignment on 28 Oct and took essay test on 1 November. I didn't get my results also. Officially, Sun takes up to 6 weeks to deliver results. Bharat, don't worry, be happy: just wait till 6 weeks expire before bugging Sun.
    Best,
    Vlad

I didn't see this topic and posted a new one, but I took the exam back on October 20th and still haven't received word. I think it's pretty unexcusable that they don't have a phone number and my attempts to contact them through email have been futile to this point. Are there any Sun representatives here?

I think Sun's participation in the entire certification process is very limited. Sun just creates the certification exams and questions. The entire management of the certification is outsourced to third party. Probably the evaluations are also done by Prometric.
Also looks like Sun is not too interested to make this process better, because Sun has bigger problems to solve.
They have even taken down the website https://www.certmanager.net/~sun/ for a week I guess.
For almost a week, I couldn't even upload my assignment. There is nothing else we can do other than waiting for somone's mercy to respond the "High-Priority" e-mails that we send.
Good Luck guys who are waiting including me.
