Hello all,
My spec specifically says:

It must be composed exclusively with components from the Java Foundation Classes (Swing components).

I might be getting a little anal here but rather that than fail automatically. I have used several "components" from java.awt.* including the events, layout managers etc. Does this count as components you think, or does the above specifically refer to components like java.awt.Component and the sub classes, i.e. containers rather than components. I really don't think that writing this is possible without using the events and things.
Thanks.
Michael

I would be very surprised if AWT was banned.
In fact, isn't Swing based on AWT? - I'd check that out before believing me, as I've never actually used Swing.

Michael and James -
I agree with both of you. My understanding is that we can use events and stuff like that because we need to in order to complete the assignment. I am hoping when they are restricting us to Swing components that it just means we need to use JPanel, JFrame, JMenu etc. for the actual components we paint on our windows.

Hi guys,
That is exactly what I though, doesn't hurt to be very sure though. Only the JFrame, JTable etc. components then sounds fair, and you can use other classes of course. Perfect.
See ya
