Shilpa -
Please see all of the book reviews in the Java Ranch Bunkhouse. You can get there from the Java Ranch home page, but here is the url.
There are many different categories to choose from - Beginning Java, Advanced Java, Miscellaneous Java, Java Certification, etc.
This specific forum is specifically for people working on the Sun Certified Java Developer Exam. The books you would most often see referenced in this forum would be in the certification category.

Hi Shilpa,
And welcome to Java and JavaRanch. We are very glad that you found our site and hope that we can really help you with learning Java. Our site has lots of forums to post all types of questions on Java.
So you came to the right website.
However, unfortunately your posted your question in the wrong forum. Which is easy to do the first time on this site.
This forum is specifically about the Sun Certified Java Developer exam, and your question is about Java in general.
What this means is that I am going to move this thread to another forum called Java-Beginner. So others can help you.
At the top left corner of this thread there is a link to take you to that other forum and your new location for this thread.
Thanks alot.

Well looking at all your previous posts. It appears that you have been a memeber since September. So maybe your question here is about books for the SCJD?
If so, you can click on the SJCD FAQ and Links page at the top of this forum, all links to good books are there.
So instead of moving this thread. I am going to close it and let you decide what you want to do.
Thanks
Mark
