Better approach to pass the exam

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi, I am wondering if it is better to order the assignment and do it along with studying or study then order the exam and revise while doing it?? I am not really familiar with patterns and stuff, but I found it hard to just study without anything practical. I don't want rush and do bad in the exam either. Please advise! Thank you!

Hi,

Hi, I am wondering if it is better to order the assignment and do it along with studying or study then order the exam and revise while doing it?? I am not really familiar with patterns and stuff, but I found it hard to just study without anything practical. I don't want rush and do bad in the exam either. Please advise! Thank you!

This may not answer your question directly, but you may wish to take a look
at the following links which may give you a bit more context:

In general, it is rather amazing how much material one needs to address;
on the other hand, the FAQ may suggest that the time limit, if any, may
not be an issue (so you would not be forced "to do a bad job due to
time constraints").
More than likely, it's better to get the exam. As an example, given the exam's
ambiguity, this may be sufficient reason to get the exam earlier rather than
later, for if you are like me, you will find yourself reading it over not once,
not twice, not just the first month, but all the time.
I don't know if people get demoralized or not on this project; I guess if no one
speaks up, then not many people do. If I had to guess, I'd say the most important
quality is to have patience. Since I've started on this exam, I've had to gradually
and iteratively approach each subject, all the way from the mundane (JavaDoc
comments) to the "sublime" (the head-scatching acrobatics of coming to terms
with some of Sun's peculiar requirements) to the interesting (elementary mutex
theory). Not yet, have I sat down and polished off decisively one particular component
of the exam, but instead, iteratively read, re-read, re-write, re-define the design,
and after sufficient amount of time, I hope, the project should for me begin to gain
faster momentum towards its goal.
On the other hand, there are some people who slice through this exam in less than
a month; but, they may have more experience in all the components than I have,
or they may have decided that their only goal was to pass, and to pass as quickly
as possible, or, they may be particularly bright, and not as slow and methodical
as I am.

Others may be able to answer your questions more directly, if I have not.
Good luck.
Thanks,
Javini Javono

Thank you Javini. I think I am pretty much in the same boat as you, if not worse. You are right, if I have the assignment with me, it will help me what to consider when I study, even tho I might pick up bad habbits in the beginning, but I can always go back to it and change it. I have just bought the assignment Thanks again.
