I am writing user help file for the FBN assignment user interface.
I am using JEditorPane to display html file. Display of html file without images is very fast compare to html file with images. This difference is significant. For example, I have a html file that has 2 gif images of 3 KB each and 4 lines of text -- it takes 12 sec to display this html file in JEditorPane.

Is there something wrong with this code?
Regards
Akash

Hi Akash,
There's nothing I see that's wrong with the code. I didn't use images directly in my online help file, but I did include a link to the Sun website where the user could download the JRE. When that link was activated the JEditorPane took an extremely long time to display the graphics from the website. In fact, it never got the graphics displayed 100% correctly. I think there may be an inherent performance problem for displaying images in the JEditorPane. You might want to think about doing without your images. I don't know of any way to improve the performance. You might try posting this question on the Swing/JFC/AWT forum.
Hope this helps,
George
