Or even purchase it through this link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1590590309/jr_bunk-20 and a portion of the money you spend will be sent to JavaRanch
A bit scared now .... there was some valentines day advertising on the Amazon page when I visited it. So how many of you are considering purchasing this for your loved one for valentines day?

Oh man! Life I bought it with only 30% last month. But I know the book is worth more than what it is to get SCJD. So I suggest this is the right time for those ranchers who don't have this book.
So, Go ranchers, Go!

Max Habibi's book is the best for SCJD in my opinion, and I am amazed to see some bad reviews from seme people on Amazon. I think they expected to be coached all through learning Java from ground up and were disappointed that that wasn't going to happen. The example he gives in there is a good tutorial to the SCJD assignment.
Go get it guys!

Guys,
I did notice the low price a few days earlier. Very attractive
value. But, I was concerned that they were offering such a low
price probably because the next edition is in the offing !
May be Max could throw more light on it, if possible ;-)
The present edition is ~2.5 yrs old. If there is a new edition
coming soon, I'd rather wait for it.

Hi Venkat,
Thanks for your kinds thoughts. The next edition will be for jdk 1.5, so it's at least 9 months off. However, you may recognize one of the new co authors on it's out

Is it true that you picked one of the authors because they have less hair than you?
