Hello all,
I am a SCJP for 1.4 platform. I want to do the Developer exam as well. So could you please tell me what the essential books that I should have to do the exam well are? Other than the javaranch.com what are the other web sites that I have to visit to get the information?
Thank you very much.

Hi Ransika,
Here is the book that is believed to be a MUST to take the exam.
The Sun Certified Java Developer Exam with J2SE 1.4
By Terry Camerlengo, Mehran Habibi, Jeremy Patterson
Published: Aug 2002
ISBN: 1-59059-030-9
364 pp.
Other than Javaranch, I am not sure with any other sites. But I can tell you, you can successfully complete your exam with only our ranch
Good Luck and see you around.

I would also suggest "Java RMI", by William Grosso, edited by O'Reilly and "Up to speed with Swing", by Steven Gutz, edited by Manning.

Hi Ransika,
You might want to take a look at the JavaRanch SCJD Reading Materials and SCJD FAQ pages.
Regards, Andrew
