Last week I swtiched my enviornments back to 1.2 from 1.4 (I have both installed) on my workstation to pinpoint a software problem for a fellow co-worker. And forgot to reset them back to 1.4 this morning. And of course I got some exceptions when starting to work on my assignment.(Charset, Logger).
which immediately rins a bell: What level of assignment I am working on?
I had assumed it was 1.4. But could it be 1.2 since I have only SCJP for 1.2?
I surfed around Suned and although not seeing specifically said 1.4 but juding from everything that is what has been assumed.
Please confirm my thoughts.
Thanks
Bing

If you downloaded the Java 2 assignment, then 1.4 is perfect.

That's my question. I did download java 2 assignment. Does it mean it is at 1.4 level?
Thanks Jacob.

Hi Bing.
My instructions include this:

Throughout this exercise, you must use exclusively the Java 2 platform. You may develop your code using any implementation of the Java 2 platform, but the submission that you return must have been tested and shown to work under a production (not development) version of the Sun Microsystems' Java 2 platform and that platform must not have been superseded by a new production version for more than 18 months by the time you make your submission.

I.e.
Thus, Java 2 1.4.xxx is fine at the moment.
Check your instructions for something similar.
