Hi!

I find myself having lesser analysis and design expertise.
I was wondering if SCJD will help in overcoming this.

How much helpful will it be? Is there anything more effective I can do to improve myself in this rather than SCJD? My main area of work is not pure Java but advanced Java. Will it be effective in improving my perfornace in Advanced Java as well?

Regards,
Tina

hi Tina:
SCJD will deffenetly improve you analytical skills. It gives you the opprtunity to work on a project from A to Z. Also, it leaves a lot of room for you to make decisions crucial to the development of the project.
YOu said that your main work is in advanced Java. What do you mean by advanced Java? do you mean J2EE, networking...can you specify?
This project is not too hard at all. The hardest part of all is to interpert and understand the requirements, Which is, in most cases, vague and confusing. However, once you really understand the requirements, with some knowledge of Java and few books and toturials from the web, you should be fine.

I have come to understand multi-threading much better while thinking on how to implement thread safety. It definitely helped. You will also find yourself understanding much more of the Java APIs and doing the work developers do in real life.
