I am working on the GUI part of the URLbird assignment and I am trying to make a good job of it by using MVC.
I have a FindFrame which a user can input data into an Name textfield and a Location textfield. When the user clicks the 'Find' button my FindController ( extends AbstractAction ) is called via the actionPerformed method. But this method only has the ActionEvent class passed in. What would be the best way, whilst maintaining low coupling between my view(FindFrame) and my controller(FindController), to get the information from the textfields on the FindFrame and call my model class with this information( URLBusinessModel )? It seems to me that the controller really needs to have the FindFrame as a member variable or a link to a singleton that manages all the frames in the GUI, but Im not too sure on this
Any suggestions would be most helpful
