I am in the process of writing JUnit tests. and am trying to think of test cases.
Currently I have

one to test the cache. Four threads write to intermitent records wait and read.

The second one I create 500 threads(because I can ) to read and write from Data while I keep a scoreboard of the data written and then compare Data to the scoreboard.

I am going to do one test case for create....

any other test case ideas that I can bombard Data with.
Thanks for any ideas.

Although not a unit test, I found some problems with my application (some parts I had apparently not finished yet ) when I ran a test with 200 threads search and booking accomocations, while I did a search and booking at the same time through the GUI. When another thread had already booked an accomocation that I tried to book through the GUI, the customer ID wasn't updated in the JTable, or something like that.
Anyway, my advice is to try out your application while running multi-client tests. And to include many 'abnormal terminination' tests (i.e. data file is read only, is not a database file, data file gets locked byu another process (because it is opened in an editor or 'custom application to generate reports') when you're trying to make a booking. Just to test the logic you probably implemented but forgot to test.
Good luck!

thanks guys, Going to add it to my list of test cases.
Anton #2 was a good test case. Are you still waiting for the results?

Now back to implementing the test cases, almost done..... so close but not quite.
