SCJD-promotional offer- clarification

I would like to take SCJD exam.But Sun office in India say that there is no promotional offer discount on part-I of the exam (i.e programming assignment) but discount is there on essay exam.
Can any one clarify on this.

AFAIK the promotional discount is granted only one one specific class of vouchers, which are the vouchers usually associated with the SCJP exams.
These vouchers aren't valid to purchase the (more expensive) SCJD assignment exam but are valid to purchase the (cheaper) SCJD essay exam.
