Folks,

I'm just looking for any opinions on whether or not an "about" menu item under "Help" is a good idea?

If so, should it simply be a message dialog, or something more complex?

I'ld appreciate any thoughts/suggestions.

Thanks.

Hi Christy,

I did have an about menu item which brought up:

This also doubled as my splash screen while the application was loading. As a splash screen it did not display the OK button, and disappeared after the application loaded or after 5 seconds, whichever was the longer.

But then again, I have been frequently accused of going far beyond the requirements . In my defence, I did not have the instructions about going beyond requirements that is in the later assignments - you might want to consider whether there is anything in your instructions that might make you think this is needed .

Regards, Andrew

I also did have an about window (didn't have a nice picture like Andrew's though). I too think that it is not required, but I wanted a place to put my name in

Frans.
