G'day,

I'm having trouble creating my stubs. I don't have a problem creating them at home, but it doesn't seem to create them on my terminal at work.

The error message simply says that it could not find the class.
Any help will be good.

I'm using Java 1.5

Cheers, Don

Can you give us more information about your directory structure, current working directory, and classpath setting, etc.?

Are you using the -classpath option to rmic?

Sorry, can only give vague suggestions to a vague question.

Also, do you need to create stubs anymore? with the introduction of dynamic proxies, Java 5 will create them automatically if you don't do it, in the same way that it does with skeletons. The only issue being would letting it do so fall foul of the "no dynamic code downloading" rule?

I have had confirmation from Monica Green of Sun Education that you cannot require the use of dynamic generation of proxies. So you must still create the stubs.

Thanks Andrew - that's very useful to know and may save lots of heartache! It's a little surprising since it's a standard feature now in the same way as automatic generation of skeletons, but hey - who am I to question!

Thanks again,

Daniel.
