It looks like most of us are recommending Naming or Registry unbind() methods to stop the RMI server. It appears, however, that the server is being stopped cleanly without making one of these calls as long as System.exit is called. Any clients trying to connect to the server might see different exceptions, but the net result appears the same.
Does anyone know if it is sufficient to call System.exit to stop RMI or if we should really use unbind() and handle its zoo of exceptions to be sure that the server is stopped appropriately?
Thanks in advance!
