Has anybody gone as far as to notify other connected clients in network mode of changes to the database.

Example:
Client A book record 30
Notify other clients of this booking and they will reflect it in their GUI.

Hi Lazee Moose,

Welcome to JavaRanch and this forum. We don't have many rules here, but one we do have is the "Official policy on registered names" which requires you to use your real name or a name that at least looks like it could belong to a real person. Could you please adjust your display name to meet this requirement? You can change your displayed name here.

In the past many candidates have had the server notify all connected clients of changes - indeed for a while (I don't know if it is still the case) the Sun training course leading up to the SCJD assignment taught how to do this, so most candidates who did the Sun training automatically added this code into their project.

It is easy to do, and an interesting technique to learn. However you will not get any extra marks for doing this, and might conceivably loose marks for doing it.

Regards, Andrew
