Hello,
My assignment is UrlyBird. I am going to use comboboxes for the CityNames and Hotelnames. I don't know what would be the best moment to get the data for the combobox?
First option is to read all available data into the client at startup and use this internal cache improving speed at selection time but creating a big cache at clientside.
Second option is to do it only when the user wants to use the combo-option reducing the size of the networktraffic and giving the most accurate situation.

Hi Jan,

While this is a design decision that you must make, I personally would tend towards giving the end user the most responsive application possible. So I would be getting the data for the combo boxes sometime before the user is ready to use them.

Regards, Andrew
