What is the stance on using an IDE for the developer exam?

Title says it all. I see in the assignment html page saying that I can choose any IDE I want as long as there are no external dependencies and as long as the code is my own. It is this last part "code is my own" part that confuses me. Sometimes IDEs automatically generate some code for the user...

Yes that's the point. If your IDE does not generate any code which you would not write yourself, such as GUI code which is obviously machine generated then it is not allowed. If the code is exactly the same as you would write yourself, then who is to know? So using Eclipse would be ok (without the visual editor). We have discussed this topic before so browse the forum.

Thanks Barry. I tried to search for the post but I couldnt find it. I figured as much since the use of IDE in that manner would only be fair.
