I am starting to look at the network section of my assignment (B&S) and have decided to choose RMI as my connection protocol.

One of the first questions I am facing is whether to extend my RMI Server from UnicastRemoteObject or Activatable. Ive read that Activatable is more efficient as it will only instantiate remote objects as needed. Yet from what I gather most people go with the UnicastRemoteObject. I know that I will probably have very few remote objects (maybe even one) but none the less why dont people use Activatable in the assignment? Is it a lot more difficult to implement? Does it break the dynamic class downloading requirement?

It would be good to know the pros and cons if I get asked a question on it in the written exam.

Cheers,
Ian
