How many items do you have for your choices.txt?
I've only identified 9 items that I gave any consideration. Other design choices may have slipped my mind because I made them automatically, I guess.
I've got the following:

Major Design Choices:
  • RMI vs. Serialized Objects
  • Proxy design pattern
  • Locking approach
  • Transporting IOExceptions from Server

  • Minor Decisions
  • 7-bit US ASCII vs. ISO-8859-1
  • Null-Termination of Database Fields vs. padding
  • Help System
  • Mapping of Meta Data
  • Single Class for Server and Client/Standalone Application

  • Anything you think is missing that's important to discuss?

Every item is detailed in about ten sentences. Do you think that's enough? I've heard of people writing novels in their choices.txt and am therefore a bit uncertain as to whether I've got enough.

That depends. How much is a page in a plain txt document?

2018 words all in points. I only stated the major decisions, odd decision, unclear spec decisions, assumptions, odd behaviour of the application etc. I didn't write anything about particular line of code, why did I wrote it like that etc. I don't think they like to read throught pages and pages of little things that can be considered as common sense so I didn't put lots of details in there. Good luck!

    Thanks Anna,

I'm at 1500 words now - seems like this is acceptable after all. And that's a good thing, because I honestly had no idea what else to write about...
