Can you get points deducted for not using any features from the newest version of Java even if there is a feature that could of been used in place of something you used in your code? For example if they questioned you on why you reinvented the wheel by coming up with some structure that there is something in the newest Java library for would you get points deducted if you stated that you just had not learned about that feature yet?

Hi Daniel,

There is a part in the assigment than says:

Use of functionality provided by the core Java classes will be preferred to your own implementation of that functionality, unless there is a specific advantage to providing your own implementation.

So i think is better be well documented about features of the version you use to make the assigment.

I hope it helps you.
