Hello

I working on the URLyBird assignment. Following the suggestion of the Monkeyhouse Book I seperated data access functionality from locking functionality. That is, I have a class named DBFileAccess that does the physical access to the flat file. The Data class turns around and calls the functions of DBFileAccess. This should make it easy to switch to a commercial database later.

But then I read my assignment again and there it says: "Your data access class must be called "Data.java", must be in a package called "suncertify.db". Does this mean that the class Data.java must be the one doing physical access to the flatfile?

Has anyone passed certification with the same instructions, and a helper class like my DBFileAccess?

Thanks in adavace for your replys.

Hi,

in other words, what it says is: "the class implementing the provided interface must be called 'Data'".
I don't see the problem in having helper classes used by "Data", as long as your "Data" offers all functionalities dictated by the interface.

Regards,
Alex
