Hello ranchers;

Is it required to generate stubs with RMIC even when using Java 5 and above (in the SCJD assignment)?

I think so (for my instructions). According to Andrew's book, the dynamic generation involves downloading the stubs. But (my instructions) said I can't do that. No downloading of classes.

I had to create stubs using rmic, I read on the net that it is dynamically generated (it didn't work for me), but if it dynamically generated then you have to allow the client to download the stubs, which is against my assignment requirements (don't know about yours). Downloading code means that you have to use security managers too.

I know that if you are using netbeans you can set it to create the stubs automatically, never tried it though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can do this with ant. That is, if you use ant.

Ant is great for this project btw. More people should use it.
