i only store 2 thing in this file:
database=
host=

where database value will be used for both standalone and server, if server picks the path, standalone will use the same location.
host is used for network client. Is it acceptable? i see no point in using 1 database for when launch in server and another for launch in standalone.

thanks in advance

I used distinct values for local, network and server, but I believe this is a design choice and you simply need to document it.
It is not a must, but you could also store the port too (or perhaps you always used a fixed port).
You can also go further and store the "search" criteria, the database file and the customer ID..

bye,
Alex
