Is there any time limit to complete the programming assignment for SCJD? I have registered for the programming assignment last year and yet to complete.

You have unlimited time to complete the assignment, the only constraint is:

from SUN's instructions:
[...]but the submission that you return must have been tested and shown to work under a production (not development) version of the Sun Microsystems' Java 2 platform and that platform must not have been superseded by a new production version for more than 18 months by the time you make your submission.

i don't think that's completely true. i think it depends on the country you live in and how the sun educational services work in that country.

as example: i live in belgium and if you subscribe for th scjd exam, you have to purchase the voucher for taking the written exam also. this voucher has an expiration date for a year, so you have for your assignment also just a year. and they don't allow you to renew this voucher (i already asked them if it's possible).

so i do not completely agree that it's unlimited time to accomplish your scjd-assignment

How so? I live in Belgium as well and I had no problem just purchasing the assignment.

That's sounds pretty weird/unfair that some countries would have different time constraints..

Could it be that you were tricked into buying the essay voucher at the same time? When you look on SUN's website, they clearly state :

https://www.suntrainingcatalogue.com/eduserv/client/loadCourse.do?coCourseCode=CX-310-252A]
Details

* Delivered at: CertManager database
* Prerequisites: Must be Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform (any edition)
* Other exams/assignments required for this certification: Step 2 (CX-310-027)
* Exam type: Programming assignment
* Number of questions: N/A
* Pass score: 320 points out of 400 possible points *
* Time limit: None

Anyway, I didn't do mine in Beligum, so you know better!

That's strange. But honestly i have to say that i didn't purchase it myself, but someone of my company did and apparently he bought both at once. And i made the assumption that you have to buy both, but that's clearly wrong

Justin,

Most people use RMI. Good luck!

Arch enemy? I mean, I don't like you, but I don't think you qualify as "arch enemy". Here, try this tiny ad:
