Branching from Mary's question previously. I have a more fundamental question about the URLyBird create function.

Regarding the create function, is its purpose so that the user can enter in a one or more field criteria as a primary key so that his/her query will find a unique match in the database ? Or is the create function actually creating a reservation which I would find odd or illegal for a user to do, for how can a user create a reservation, isn't that an in house operation ? Or does our project also account for in house users (i.e operators who work for early bird that enter in new reservations through the create function)

If the purpose of create is of the former, how is create different from the findByCriteria function other than Create will return a unique record or throw a duplicate exception. Lastly, how is a deleted record different from a record in which the owner field is blank ?

hi Michael,

about the create function: just look in your instructions.html
Create is supposed to create a new record (like insert)
You have to implement this method, but you don't have to call it from your GUI.

Thanks Herman

I do not see an equivalent GUI mapping for the create function unless its an in-house user. And I think differentiating users may be going to much extra than needed in this project. May I ask how you approached the create function from the GUI side ? Am I missing some obvious logic here ?

Thanks again

Michael
