My assignment requires to create either text or an HTML version of the userguide file. The HTML version can either be on the web or packaged into the jar file. The question I have if I decide to package HTML file into the jar, is it legal to add screenshots into the jar?

And if I decide to upload all userguide files online where do I mention the URL of my userguide?

What they mean by online is not on the web, but an option to access that documentation inside the running application. You need to provide everything is needed in the submission jar.

I don't use HTML for my userguide, if you want to use it, be careful about the size of your JAR file. When I receive the instructions, it is written like this :

When uploading your assignment, some candidates experience problems uploading files greater than a 1000K. We suggest optimizing the graphics to reduce the file size to between 200k and 400k.

I recommend you to use simple text file but it is up to you.

Hope that helps
