One Last time:
When we override finalize(), it is NOT COMPULSORY for use to invoke finalize method in super class. CORRECT or WRONG
In JLS ( 12.6) - " Object declared a finalize method means that the finalize mehtod for any class can always invoke the finalize method for its superclass, which is USUALLY GOOD PRACTICE".
I guess it is NOT COMPULSORY...

No it's not compulsory. The compiler or RunTime won't reject your code.
