Well..I think ppl. stopped reading my earlier thread, so Iam posting it again
I thought I won't come back but after sleeping over and celebrating over,I thought I can do better by giving my advice to fellow SCJP-seekers! so..here are my experiences abt it!
First of all..as I have mentioned earlier..that I have never seen a more easier exam than this..I almost felt cheated by Sun for giving such a easy-test! After putting in months of prep.and days of hard-work,I was expecting a better deal! Anyway..I shouldn't be complaining!
Second, although sites like Javaranch are doing good service to would-be Java programmer community but after getting thru the real test..I feel the kind of posers and trick Qs ppl. debate here are not needed at all..ok! they are good for furthering ur knowledge abt. Java but if the real goal is to clear SCJP..which I feel ,most of the ppl. have..then there is no need to go into that deep!! There are no trick Qs at all..all plain vanilla straight-forward ..I almost kept searching for any trick Q..but couldn't find any!!
ok! now abt. real test.well..I finished 15 mins. before time even after doing 2 rounds of revisions as my patience was running out!!I was getting restless and annoyed at seeing such silly Q.s Come on! now who would expect to be asked 2 Q's on sizes of primitive data-types..few Q's on return types of general methods!!quite a few simple Q's abt "modifiers"!!yeah! that's why said it's a simple one!And even the so-called Mediatracker/Socket ones test ur intelligent-guess making capability..nothing much! and there was one simple one on Gridbag..one simple one on Collections( kind of which u find on first page of any chapter on Collections!!) , 2 on I/O incl. the socket one .The ones on GC, Threads etc. were unambiguous ,straight-forward ,nothing to do with platform specifcs!!simple ones on AWT etc.!!Well..who will call such a test a diff. one!! I really feel some one with a week's prep. can crack it!! no kidding!!
Well..now something abt. preparation! I started with Java 2 Complete Reference along with a bit of Bruce Eckel's "Thinkig in Java" and then 3 guides namely, RHE/Jaworski/Khalid. Of the lot,I feel Khalid's is much more comprehensive and authoritative and almost somewhere bet. a guide and Text-book! And I took quite a few mock-tests..whatever I cold lay my hands on incl. famous Marcus Green ones! Well..if some body asked me to compare the level of mock-exams vis-a-vis the real one So I would rate
Real Test at 0 and Applied Reasonings's test at 10 with Marcus thrown at somewhere bet. 1 or 2 .And on study-notes available on net! although there are quite a few floating around ,but I feel not all the material in them is perfect and same is true with almost all the books/mocks etc. ok..there are Errata pages but I never had patience to go to such pages!!So..trust ur instinct and whenever u feel something is fishy..JDK is at ur help..that's what I did!!don't take anything for granted!!
finally(without a try ..don't loose ur sleep over it! read couple of guides and crack as many mocks as possible !!and that should be it!don't prolong ur prep. as u get restless ..that's what happened with me!!
Well..I guess I have written a lot and I hope I have helped the confidence of lots of ppl ..I wanted to go on and on and take my ire out at Sun for making such a fuss etc..I almost feel like putting up a web-site with all the Q's out there and charging ppl. money! haha!but I guess I will only offend ppl ..So I will stop here and here is my e-mail id sameer_nayyar@yahoo.com
..if anyone feels like asking for any tips or whatsoever..he/she is welcome!(don't expect to get real Q's from me ..I am not that anarchist !!
Thanks again folks for ur patience !

Thanks for your advice and congratulation!
Please let us know the mock exam links, the more the better.

other ppl may have the same need as mine.
