Is "strictfp " a keyword

Hi,
I read somewhere that strictfp is a keyword and when I am trying to use it as a varaiable the complier gives error....
Can some one explain

I have the list of keyword published by sun at

and it is there. (added with Java 2)
My guest is that your JDK1.2 is not the last release or that you don't use it correctly.
