Hi all,
I have a year exp in java and my employer needs me to get sun certification in a month. till a week ago i did not think of attempting it and hence never prepared in sun's exam point of view. I got RHE book and made a first round in last week and started taking mock exams from today and secured around 80% in markus exam2 and in javaranch roundup game once 96% and then 100%.
I would like to know if by chance I do not get certified(obviously because I did not prepare well), will that have any implication when I want to take the exam 2nd time. If sun do not store that failure remark, I am planning to take exam in next 2 weeks as to my employer request as he is going to pay for it. Otherwise I am planning to req the employer for additional time. I tried to get the info about the same but fail to find ans over net.
I am also fortunate to browse an excellant site of maha anna and felt it was just made a right time(my my point of view). I also thank javaranch morderators for maintaining such an excellant site. I will definetely share my exp in comingup discussion threads.
looking for an asap
thanks in adv.

All I know is, you need to wait for 2 weeks between attempts.

Hi,
I know my neigbour wrote exam in march ,I guess. I don't remember the exact date. I knew for sure she took her SCJP exam on Friday and she did not get thru and she wrote on 'MONDAY'.just a gap of couple of days . I don't know if Sun has given any rules recently.
All the Best

Nirmala

Hi new user
Sugesstion #1
Register urself with Java Ranch and join the community.
#2 I strongly believe that with the kind of scores ur getting, u should be able to clear it with a top score after 2 more weeks of study.
THough I'm a beginner in Java and not yet certified but everybody says taht if u getting 85% or more in Marcus and RHE exams, it's a n easy way from there. Maybe u should buy RHE(Roberts, Heller, Ernst) book and give it's exams too.
All the best.

They started the new rule since June.
Now you need to wait 2 weeks to retake the exam.
I'm curious to know also if it's indicated that one passed the exam on the nth attempt.

Thanks for all the support and suggestions, but unfortunately my Q is still not answered. Hope some one who already written exam can come up with answer. Now in these few days my confidence level was still boosted and hope everything goes fine in the exam and decided to take this month end.
But I hope this query may be informative for the future aspirants and hence I request atleast morderators more up with info for the same.
Thanks a tons.
