I am not happy with my score and did not want to post on javaranch but then on second thoughts, I have benefitted from javaranch so much that I have to contribute. When I was about to post this topic I saw another post with 98%. Well, anyways it doesn't matter, I keep telling myself.
The exam was easy. Honestly I have already seen some of the questions in some mocks. I wonder how people are able to duplicate the entire question! I had 3-4 questions where I wasn't sure about the answers i.e. questions where I really had to think. Maybe I wasted a lot of time on this questions instead of revising the easy ones. So I guess I missed out something in those easy ones.
I would suggest the following for people taking the exam
Read RHE thoroughly, try solving marcus green mocks, RHE mock, rules round up, and maybe two or three other mocks. Instead of just knowing how to do the conversions(octal, hexadecimal, decimal)or any other topic, actually practice doing it. I did not see any tricky questions on the exam. If you are not sure about the answers to a few questions, mark the best possible answer and don't waste your time on those questions, instead revise the other easy ones. You may have missed something.
The only thing I bought was RHE and JSecure. All the best to everyone planning to take the exam.
I had 2 on layout(1 on gridbag)
1 API
2 GarbageCollection
3-4 inner classes
2 on events
2 on IO
I did not get the famous mediatracker or socket question though I was prepared for it.

Cheer up Sandra, ur a SCJP now. May I suggest you a saying I read once in an Indian newspaper 10 yrs back "Look Back and Smile at The Perils Past".
BTW i've RHE but not Jsecure and I'm going for exam in last week of August. Should I get Jsecure too.
Thanks for being around at ranch and sharing your valuable info.
Congratulations again..... Have fun.

Congratulations Sandra!
Do not compare your score with others'. The important thing is that you are a SCJP now!
Cheer up

Thanks a lot Harry and Junaid.
Harry, since you have RHE be sure to read it properly making sure you understand what you read. I had theorotical answers to questions on inner classes, garbage collection, gridbaglayout, threads. You will be able to answer these questions confidently only if you know the concepts well. I spent a lot of time memorising the methods in IO, String etc. You don't have to do that. Just go through them and make sure you understand. Solve the mocks listed on javaranch and then if you think you are ready you could buy JSecure(its upto you) to test yourself. I wish you all the best in your exams.

Congrats!!
I'll be appearing for it next week, can you give a one liner for what we need to know about the socket communication. I've heard about it but does not have a clue as to what it is about.

Thanks everyone.
Chris I am really sorry, but I did not see the socket question in my exam. But I have read here that if your concept of file IO is clear, you should be able to answer it.

Hello Sandra,
Congratulations on becoming SCJP, it does not matters on how much u scored in the exam, what really matters is whether ur SCJP or not. Any way wish a happy Java career.

Sandra,
Hearty congratulations. Don't worry too much about your score, may be you can top it up with SCJD or other certifications It is always a pleasure to learn, isn't it?
Good luck,
