hello every one,
Well i m in a confusion that should i join some inst for taking java exam or should i prepare on my own. i m having background of oops, and i m also familiar with some of the java concept. As the fees for the exam has been increased so i m not able to make up my mind if i should spend more money on inst for this. Will this exam lead me to take some job based on this. Even i dont know which books i should refer. At present i m having Core java by Cay Horstmann. i will b really grateful to u if u can help me to come out of this confusion.

thank u.

Your worries are understandable. Increase in fees by more than double and than joining classes. The total might go easily around 22-25 atleast. If you know programing and OOP I will not recommended joining classes. Read what you have plus JLS (MUST), Java book by Patrick Norton, Java Certification Guide by Robert and Heller. I think it is not difficult if you concentrate enough. Infact its easy if you can concentrate. All the best.

Hi Umang
I second what Kishore has posted. You have programming knowledge already, all you need is study hard.
And about the job,,,so far they say java is it..I don't know for how long but currently a java certification measures high. And ofcourse with your programming background you will be fine.
Cheers
Nasir
