I appeared for the exam on the 6th of Oct, But could not get through. I was doing well in the mocks ...about 82-85% and 95-100% on the roundup. But was sad to see my result. the questiond were lengthy , each one had about 7-8 choices . This took much longer to analyse them.
Now i have for the time being given up the idea of going for the certification.
Anyway all the BEST to all tose who aspire for the ceritification

Very hard to hear that you coudnt get through. I am appearing

part that was bothering you.
Do not loose heart, and best of luck in your future endaveours.

Hey Aparna..
No giving up here on the ranch...Keep it up.
And I am sure you would do fine next time. I have failed once (big deal) but that doesn't mean we stop thinking about it.
Yaa delaying it a little is okay..but stay and hang on with java .
Cheers
Nasir

Hello Kishan ,
ALL THE BEST TO YOU. The quetsions were tricky of course some were easy too. But yes the length is sure to take up a lot of our time. you need to think carefully for each option given and then decide. Yes there is one thing though, they have also given hints like : Select only three OR Select the best answer whenever the anser is multiple OR a single one (respectively).
When are u planning to give the exam ? what date ? Once again all the BEST to you.

Hi Nasir,
Thanks for trying to lift up my mood. Yes I am very very upset and depressed after the exam. I have developed a fear for the computer at home(where I used to study for the exam).
ALL THE BEST TO YOU.
When are u planning to go for the exam again ?

Aparna,
It was so nice of you to give a reply. I am taking the exam
this friday, Iam concerned becuase I am also getting the same
marks what you had got in the mock tests, anyway I am not going
to postpone it. I am hoping for the best.
For you, there is no giving up, It is just a matter of time.

Aparna,
One other small question. How strong should we be in API.
Bu API I mean constructors, methods , variables of each of
the class in java. It is impossible to remember all of them.
What classes can we classify as Important ones.
In general how were the questions on the API.
Please do reply,

Shameen , am sorry for having scared you. I had not intended to do so. But surely you can use some time to prepare for the exam. Try to get as much feedback from the persons who have given the exam in the new format. That would help.
ALL THE BEST TO YOU

Aparna,
From most accounts Java is not easy. I know of one person who took a year off to study before passing the certification; and that was with the old format
Sometimes you can focus too hard on a subject. You've worked hard; maybe now you need to give your brain a rest for a week or two. Do some of the things you enjoy and take your mind off Java then attack it again with a rested mind.
Think of how great you'll feel when you do pass!
All the best.

Bounce Back!!!Though its tough, aim for 90% plus this time.

Dear aparna,
Don't get depressed. It's difficult to digest that a person who was getting 80-90% in mocks etc. couldnt get through.
any way, don't loose heart. You shouldn't let go with the idea of clearing the exam. The exam deserves at least one more try. There might be thousands of silly reason why you couldn't though. and i can give you lakhs of such reasons that show that you will get through this time. So please try it once more.
I am still preparing for the exam and plan to appear in first/second weak of november.
hope to see you appearing and clearing the exam.
rahgav..

Aparna,
Sorry to hear the news. But NEVER give up. and DONT delay also. 6 months is too much. cos u hv already prepared once. I will give u a small tip. Just take one topic at a time. For example, Thread. Read line by line and inbetween lines from JLS and then read the same stuff in all the books and course materials u have and answer all the Thread related Qs in the mock tests u have. Once u r confident in practising this topic Thread then move to the next one. I am sure u must be having good knowledge to score such high percentage in the mock tests. Just a bad timing maybe. But as per the saying "hit when the rod is hot" .. just prepare again when u already have ur concepts clear and finish the exam now rather than postponing it for such a long time. All the Best.

Aparna,
Anbooo has some real points. You were getting good scores in the mock exams, so your Java knowledge must be good. I am sure there were parts of the exam where you did very well. There are probably only a very few areas you want to review again.
Six months is a long time to remember the types of things this exam tests. You might want to consider re-taking the exam a little sooner. You sounded very sad in your post, and it is understandable. Everyone would like to pass the first time. But it was a difficult test and lots of people have to re-take it. You have a big advantage right now over people who have never taken the exam, because you know exactly what to expect. You are so close! Please do not give up. I am sure you will do better the next time.
Best wishes.
