I passed the exam today with an 84%, thought I would pass on some information on the exam. It seems that there is roughly 50% to 60% of pretty simple straight forward questions, 20% intermediate, and 20% Tough questions. A lot on threads, I had 8, seemed like the questions wouldn't end on the threads. It's funny cause the first 44 questions were easy to intermdiate, then I got all these questions on threads, some tough, some easy, and all tough quetions. Like I was cruising right along adn then boom, I hit a wall. Things I studied from, RHE book, Marqus Greens moch exams, javaranch round up. Need 100% all the time from round up, very basic stuff. Marqus green's exams are really good to prepare from. Know every line of the RHE book, and look at the API docs for IO. Otherwise RHE is good source. Feel free to post questions, I know I fogot to put a lot of the information I know from the test. Study hard, know the content required, and relax, you'll pass the test.
[Note from a moderator - there were a bunch of other messages in this thread from people asking Jeff to send them actual exam questions - something Jeff never even suggested he would do. Anyway I deleted them all since JavaRanch is not here to help people cheat and violate copyrights. So that's what some of these other messages are referring to, for those of you wondering. By the way - congratulations, Jeff - well done! -- Jim Yingst] First off, way to go. Second, I think we are getting a little carried away with trying to get real questions from the test. Maybe I am from the old school, but I don't think we should be posting actual questions from the test. Besides, Sun doesn't allow this, and none of us want to make the Ranch become the hang out for cheating the system. Just my two cents.

Hi Jeff! Congrats !! That is a score.. And thanx for the feedback... I agree with bill bozeman...lately i could see lots of posts requesting real exam questions... rather about java well,I feel the Bartenders and sheriffs should get ride of such a practice in this ranch... just a suggestion Jeban
Warmest congratulations, Jeff! Friends who asked about real exam questions, do not misinterpret Jeff's post: REAL questions cannot be communicated, it is both illegal and unethical. You do not want to cheat, right? You can find A LOT of mock exams here and it is enough to pass, even with great scores, like Jeff's
Hi Jeff! Congrats!! for the great marks you've got & keep it up... Well I was a bit afraid after hearing that they have made the exam much tougher than the previous ones & I was starting to lose confidence , but after reading your experience I felt my confidence was returning, thanks for sharing your experience, I would like to know the way you have prepared for your scjp, since I am too planning to give the exam by the first week of the next month, I wanted to confirm that I have'nt left anything in my preparation. Please let me know as soon as possible... [This message has been edited by Jim Yingst (edited October 19, 2000).]
