Hi Everybody,
---- ---- ---- ---- ----
I was wondering if anybody knows if there is going to be a re-write of the current Java2 Exam which is due to be released in February.
I was told that it would include new topics like the swing package, security & networking.
If you know anything about this please advise me when it is because I want to do my exam before that date!!
Thanks
Janine

Janine -
I think what you mentioned is just another rumor going around. If you go to Sun's website, there isn't anything mentioning adding new topics to the exam. Also, Sun's site doesn't mention the exam being rewritten in February.
Here is a link to Sun's site: http://suned.sun.com/USA/certification/progobj.html#Java2
Hope that helps!

After all the work they went to to test and calibrate the present exam it seems very unlikely that Sun will be springing a new one on us. I got the impression that every new exam will involve a lengthy beta testing process so we are bound to hear about it months ahead of time.
I sure would love to know who starts these screwball rumours.

This is such a popular rumor that I mention it in my FAQ. It is as credible as the hitchhiker I picked up last night who had vanished by the time I got home.

By the way, what is "beta testing process" mean?

beta testing means finding problems and offering suggestions when an answer is wrong or a question is ambiguous. most software goes through beta testing to find bugs and offer ideas for improvement. The person who wrote the program sends it to selected people to be evaluated.
