brogden says that the method defined by Component is
public void processEvent(AWTEvent e)
i want to point out that the access modifier is protected.

It is true that the method is protected, but you don't point out where Mr. Brogden says this.

Just posting it here doesn't do much good.
Looking at the JDK 1.2 source code I find:
protected void processEvent(AWTEvent e) {
kindly tell me what page of what book has it wrong.
