Hi Sandeep,
I have started praparation for SCJP & would like to sit for the Exam in May first week. The first hurdle I faced towards SCJP was the Voucher. I had to get it from Pune (Just applied today). Globsyn kept on making false promises & couldn't deliver. Tell me something a'ut yourself, myself working as a WebAdministrator in a Financial Company & have experience in Application server.

Thanks for the information. Actually I was thinking about approaching Globsyn for buying voucher .I am also thinking to sit for the exam around May .I am currently working as Java Instructor abroad. Could you please tell me how did you get the voucher from pune

Hi Sandeep,
Actually Globsyn always keep's on saying that they will get the Coupons next week but that next week never comes.
So I was forced to go for Other Option's.
Now if u r working abroad than it would be better if u get SCJP voucher from that Country or City only cause here in Cal. it would be a Problem.
I had to request my Friend in Pune who applied for a Voucher in my name. Infact u can buy a Voucher from anywhere in the world & than sit for the Exam anywhere in the World. Voucher is valid for 1 Year, so better get a Voucher for u soon.

I am preparing to take the exam this month-end. Have sent a DD to Sun India Bangalore for the voucher. The company I am working for in Oracle D2K is closing down so I am going for SCJP before looking for jobs again. Preparing with RHE,JQ+,Mughal and javaranch.

i am also being harassed by the globsyn people. i had first asked them in mid feb. they kept on promising two weeks time with regard to the availability of the voucher. now they told me to enquire at the end of the month. i think i have to get the voucher from outside.

does anyone know of a good book with regard to threads?

Could you give me the address of Banglore sun office where I have to send the DD for voucher .Did I have to go to Banglore to sit for exam.How many days they take to issue voucher normally.
Though I am currently staying abroad ,I am returning back to Cal in this month.

It would be good if u have SCJP with Oracle D2K experience.
I know (Both Job & Stock) markets are Down now but don't worry it will recover, it's a temporary phase. And it's the Best time to enhance your skills.

Hi All,

The book by Khalid Mughal goes beyond the level of toughness
required for the certification exam but some topics like
inner classes have been explained better than in Simon Roberts.
The Roberts book is enough if you cover it minutely.
JQ+ is an excellent mock test software with explanations
to answers too. It costs only Rs 450/-. Lot of guys who cleared SCJP have recommended it in this site(certification results forum). You can get it from www.enthuware.com
It has 9 tests.

As directed by them I have sent them a DD of Rs 6,975/- in favour of Sun Microsystems India Ltd., payable at Bangalore. However it is better you contact them and find out for yourself.
Once you get the voucher you can take the exam through any Prometric centre which offers this exam.
I am situated in Baguihati. Staying with friends.

Since u can't get the voucher from GLOBSYN,i guess u cannot sit for the exam there to. In that case even if u have managed to get the voucher where will u sit for the exam . i believe there is a Sylvan Prometric centre at Minto Park where folks appear for their GRE & GMAT exams. in that case will it possible to give the exam from that place.

Hi All,
I have just received the exam voucher from sun india, bangalore.
Now i will have to go to Globsyn and schedule my exam. Globsyn is not giving out vouchers but if you have the voucher you can go there for your exam.
Most probably I will take it on 25th.

Hi everybody,
What I could get is that nearly everyone has suffered at the hands of Globsys in Cal. so I would like to share something which I had done...
When i saw that Globsyn is constantly making false promises than I took the help of my friends in Pune, B'bay, Delhi, B'lore & H'bad. Surprisingly everybody said that Coupons are easily available in those cities except H'bad where all the Coupons & Slots for the Exam are Booked... and consequently Voucher's are been sold at a premium prise of 1.5 times the original amount. But in Pune, B'bay, Delhi, B'lore Vouchers r easily available. So I would request all of u to contact ur Friends or Relatives in these cities & tell them to Apply for a Voucher in your name.
Mind u all u need is 1-2 Passport size Snaps & Address proof (e.g Bank Statement, Ration Card, Passport, Driving license, Voter ID card) ALL XEROX COPIES ONLY. And ofcourse the Money which U can send by any means u like, I would also like to add a point here that the Voucher cost also varies from City to City(e.g it's 6975/- in Pune & 7300/- in Delhi & H'bad) so don't worry if the cost varies....
So ur friend or relative can apply at the concerned city under ur name...After they apply they still have to wait for 10 to 15 days before they get the Voucher in Hand ....After that they can send u the Voucher by Speed Post or Courier...
Now all u have to do is go to any Prometric center in Calcutta & Book for a time slot for the Exam....
As far as I know U can go to any Authorised Prometric center in Cal. & give the Exam.. All u have to do is to give 1 Week notice before sitting for the Real Thing !!!
And then all depends on ur Hard Work & Ofcourse Luck !!!
I hope this solves many of ur worries a'ut getting the SCJP Vouchers...

Hi All,
You can get the voucher as I did. Just send a DD of Rs 6,975/- to bangalore office of sun india and you will get it in a week's time without having to send any identification.
I had sent my DD by courier on 10th and today I got my voucher.
You can find the details of how to send the DD in one of my posts above.
And don't forget to notify the sun people of this crisis of vouchers in Calcutta.

Thanks for all information.I was looking for these information only.I visited www.enthuware.com,they have different section for Indians.We could buy their software for Rs 500 instead of Rs 1000,but they will not give any Guarantee.What Guarantee they are talking about??

I think it's Important to mention that the Method used by me & Siddarth may be diffrent but Ultimately lead to the same Goal that is to get an Exam Voucher for the JCP Exam.
Now it depends on u people that what suites u more but one thing is sure both methods can be used.

I tried to save an applet as 'save as ' file.But applet could not be saved in this way.Then I created a HTML file with .Then click save as in anchor.This has saved .class file local directory.When I tried use that class file in another HTML file with applet tag it is not working.Can any body help me.

You have to make the DD in favour of Sun Microsystems India Pvt. Ltd. payable at Bangalore. That is how I got the voucher. Please confirm this from the sun india people before sending your draft.
