Are any of the training centers, specifically in the Atlanta, Georgia area, offering programs for Java Certification? And if so who are they?
Thanks in advance,

Thomas,
There are a few places where you can go to get Java training. I went to Silicon Valley, Inc. in Norcross, GA a couple of months
ago. It was good for introducing me to the basics of Java, but it is only for 4 days, 8 hours per day. The instructor is good, but he has to hurry to get through 13 chapters in 4 days, and is not able to thoroughly explain everything you need to know. One advantage is that you are able to go back to the class as many times as you want (depending on seat availibility) for up to a year. Unfortunately, you have to sit through the areas you feel comfortable with, and hope to get enough time to discuss the areas you do not feel comfortable with.
I don't remember much about the other courses I looked at, but I can tell you this much: Javaranch is a good place to come to in order to ask for advice in areas where you have questions, and there are experienced programmers who will help you to troubleshoot your programs.
Looking back, the main things I accomplished at my course were getting my computers' classpaths set up, and learning how to get started.
I hope this helps a little.
Howard
