I have been working with Hibernate, Castor, and a few other O/R Mapping and Data Layer Persistance API's trying to determine which one I want to use.
While doing this I ran into several snags, questions, etc. So my question is, where is the best place to ask these questions on Javaranch?
1. Other Open Source Projects
2. Other JAVA API's
3. JDBC
I don't think we need a Data Layer forum per say, but another thought I had was to possibly incorporate Data Layers and Perstistance into the JDBC forum somehow. Myabe make it both JDBC and Data Layers or soemthing like that. Since Hibernate, Caster, etc user JDBC anyway...
Does anyone else think this is a good idea, bad idea??
There aren't a lot of questions related to these technologies as it is, but maybe if we include these in a specific Forum some communication would take place regarding this API's. Then I would have some place where I can get ALL my questions answered. LOL

There's a forum for JDBC and database questions. the db questions tend to be vendor independant, otherwies they tend to get moved to the specific vendor (IBM, Oracle)
We also get SQL and general persistence type questions there too, such as JDO and Castor.
There was a reasonably long discussion started by Paul in the JDBC forum on O/R mapping tools, I'll see if I can find it for you.

I guess I should be more specific. I know about the JDBC forum. I am there frequently.
So I will restate my question. Where should I ask specific questions about Hibernate? I am having some problems and need to know the best forum to get a response.

It's hard to fight evil. The little things, like a nice sandwich, really helps. Right tiny ad?
